Even though your license may be not be issued by New York state, many states still record traffic convictions from New York on your home state record.

And even if your home state does not record points, having New York State traffic convictions can still cause you problems in terms of additional fines, license suspension, and insurance premium increases.

For example, Driver Responsibility Assessment, at least $300 will be assessed to any driver with 6 points in 18 months. Just one speeding ticket for 21 mph over the limit is 6 points.
