Arizona Drivers: Impact of New York Traffic Convictions

by Seth Azria on 3/20/2020
Effect of NY traffic ticket convictions on Arizona Drivers

Arizona DOT Includes NYS Traffic Convictions

Arizona and New York have both signed the Driver License Compact so the states share information about traffic convictions.

If an Arizona driver is convicted of a traffic violation in a New York court, Arizona DOT will add the conviction to that driver’s record.

Arizonans Should Take Care of Tickets issued in NY

Three reasons Arizona drivers should not plead guilty to a New York Traffic ticket:

  1. Arizona will add the conviction, and any points, to their record back home.
  2. All drivers on New York roads are subject to New York’s driver responsibility law. The law requires payment from any driver who accrues 6 or more points in any 18 month period; one speeding ticket 21mph over the limit is 6 points.
  3. The states share information and Arizona will add convictions to the drivers record, therefore, it is likely an Arizona insurance carrier will learn of the conviction and possibly respond negatively.

Taconic Parkway Speeding Ticket

Seth was able to reduce my 6 point speeding ticket to 0 points with a small fine. His office was responsive and kept me up to date. I did not have to appear in court, they pretty much took care of everything.

Take it from a Fellow Attorney, Seth Azria is wonderful and gets the job done.

I am an attorney working in the lower Hudson Valley. I had an unfortunate brush with the law on my birthday of all days! which resulted in my receipt of a speeding ticket en-route to a wedding in Buffalo. I'd never had any other infractions on my record and this offense is certainly not an area in which I specialize. I was very upset and worried but immediately upon calling Mr. Azria all of my fears and concerns melted away. Mr. Azria was able to plead my ticket down to a minor violation with no points and a small fee to the Court. Mr. Azria was quick, efficient and responsive. I never had a moment of worry that my case was being neglected. Mr. Azria and his team answered any questions that I had and kept me informed throughout the process. I could not have asked for a better team in my corner and you can't beat the price. You would have thought that I spent a small fortune for the quality of service that I received. Take it from me, Mr. Azria is the attorney you want representing you.

THE lawyer you need when dealing with NY State & upstate Cops

TWICE I reached out to Seth when I got speeding tickets in upstate NY about a year apart. The first ticket was reduced significantly so it gave me great confidence to call Seth from the highway when I got the second ticket!

With each ticket Seth explained what my options and risks were. He delivered exactly what he promised in each event. He really knows the DA's in each county that he had to deal with and was able to get the second ticket which was a monster 6 pointer to ZERO points!  The fact that I did not have to waste time and wages to appear in court was priceless.

I emphatically recommend Seth for anyone with a New York State or an upstate speeding ticket.
